Who is ...

The Speculator

The Speculator is a unique cat. There are so many strings to this semi professional punters bow that it is hard to know what his greatest area of expertise is.

“Online poker? That’s my bread and butter, it pays the rent and puts crayfish and Moet on my not insignificant table. The gee gees are fun, bought my last Mercedes when I got the quaddie on Australian Cup day a few years ago. But multi sport multi betting, with the odd margin thrown in, that stuff really gives me a hard on.”

Twenty winning weeks this year out of twenty six speaks volumes for this man’s ability to pick winners and winning margins. My ears are still ringing from his constant reminders of his Grand Final week multi - Geelong by over 72 points into Johnson for the Norm Smith into Melbourne Storm to win into November 24 for the Federal Election – a massive 155/1!

Despite this phenomenal record, earlier in the year, the Speculator retired. Too early, many cried. And they were right. Just one week later, the premature ex Speculator jumped back into the fray, determined to go the distance.

It is a long season and even the battle hardened need time out. But when he climbed back on board, the Speculator pulled out a seven leg multi bet involving the winning margins in two AFL games, an NRL match, the Monaco F1 GP, an LPGA Tournament in Arizona, a seniors Darts Championship in the UK and a Big Brother eviction

A lazy $20 at $224 quickly renewed his interest and put him back on track.

When the footy season is on, The Speculator is on. His specialty from March to September is AFL multi bets and he goes good.

“Go hard or go home. That’s my motto. Needless to say, I often forget where I live. That’s how hard I go”.
